Welcome to St. Mary’s Orthodox Church

St. Marys Malankara Orthodox church is located at Thottupuram, a small village near Prakkanam situated around 6 kilometers west of Pathanamthitta district headquarters. Built on August 30, 1914 (Chingam 14, 1090) in the name of mother St. Mary by a group of Syrian orthodox families, the church was renovated and consecrated by the Catholicose H.H. The members of this church are malankara orthodox families mainly from Prakkanam East, Muttukudukka, Thottupuram and Varyapuram areas. The church has an immense parish hall (auditorium) and a modern office cum parsonage situated near the church. We have two holy shrines, one at Thottupuram Junction, built in the name of St. Marys and other at Prakkanam East, built in the name of St. Gregorios of Parumala. We also have a Sthree Samaja Mandiram, where a group of Sthree Samajam members come together every Sunday for the prayer meeting. The church is blessed by the presence of 5 Priests and 2 Rev. Sisters
